WPR "Request Not Supported" Error on Windows Server 2025

Hello,

I'm encountering an issue with Windows Performance Recorder (WPR) on Windows Server 2025 and would appreciate any guidance.

Environment:

OS: Windows Server 2025

WPR Version: Latest from Windows ADK (Assessment and Deployment Kit)

Issue: WPR consistently fails with a "request not supported" error when attempting to start a trace session.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Modified logging mode from memory-based to file-based recording

  2. Tested with multiple built-in profiles

None of these approaches have resolved the issue.

Questions:

Has anyone successfully run WPR on Windows Server 2025, and are there known compatibility issues?

Are there any specific system requirements or permissions that might cause this error?
