I do t know what you mean by “toolkit”… but the equivalent of WES 7 is Windows IOT Enterprise.

Dear Peter,

Thanks for the response.

WES 7 Toolkit has the tool “Image Configuration Editor” and other major tools used to customize the WES 7 OS image based on the target board.

Please refer me the equivalent tool kit which is used to customize the Windows IoT enterprise Image.

This isn’t a NTDEV topic, but I do have some information in this area. A formal response coming from your embedded distributor is undoubtedly more informative, but the short answer is Windows 10 embedded is NOT like WES7 and certainly not like WES 2009.

Peter is correct in that the “equivalent” is Win 10 IoT Enterprise.

You don’t get near the granular selection that you used to. Enough people saw the ease of use as a major improvement in usability to encourage the change in approach.

The toolkit usage model has changed too. The ICD is primarily used to create your install media. You can inject your drivers packages in the install media using the ICD.

You really should have this discussion with your representative from the embedded channel. It’s not a NTDEV discussion.

Mr. Corbin is right in all aspects.

To ME, the high point of Windows Embedded was XP Embedded… with that, you could basically tailor ANY system you wanted.

Feedback to MSFT from the world: WAAAAAY too complicated. Which I think is too bad, but… I don’t personally buy any Embedded licenses.
