Hallelujah!

Yes, the chm is much better than the hxs in many ways imho.

Beautiful. You brought tears to my eyes. I can launch the .chm file,
search for a topic, and be partway through reading it before the
Document Explorer app even opens. You have my undying gratitude for this.

Thanks, I hope this is the first step in a long thorough program of common
sense and RDF correction efforts.

All you devs singing praises on this list, be sure you send positive
feedback through the link at the bottom of the pages. Doesn’t count
here nearly as much as there.

(reviving week-old thread)

Ted,

The CHM is sooooo freakin’ useful I can barely express how much I love it.

Download it, double click, and you’re “good to go.” Who would need more?

I discovered that even on XP SP3 with all patches, I had to use Windows
Explorer to allow access. Once that was done, it is so much faster than the
latest stuff. I still need the 7000 beta WDK for the docs on NDIS 6.20,
which the chm does not include. I still use the 3790.1830 docs for NDIS 5.1
since most of our customers’ customers have not switched to Vista.

Consider this my vote to keep this type of documentation. The other has a
far too long of a delay just to load.

And frequently a small steps backward takes a lot of balls to make. No
matter what happened, there was presumably no risk to just pushing out
another hxs collection, unlike be willing to be held accountable for the
(considerable) amount of resources that this required.
