Hi
I have problems with UPS which is HID Battery compatible. The device works fine on older Windows versions (Vista, Windows 7 etc.) but not on Windows 10.
The device shows up fine in device manager as HID UPS Battery but it doesn’t at the try battery. There I can see “this battery is not available for use” or rarely I see 0% and not charging.
Checked the USB log with a software usb analyzer, I can clearly see Windows is reading up lots of variables from the UPS, including capacity and did not seen any error reported on packet level:
Request Type:Get Report (Data Field)
Data Size:2
Data:
52 32
R2
Parsed Report:
Report Name:UPS
RemainingCapacity[0…100]: 50
Tried to update the hid battery driver but according to Windows it is “up to date”.
So it’s not that the device is not responding, it is something about how Windows10 treats those UPS’s.
I saw many errors like this for different laptops solved with driver change but in this case the driver is the basic HID Battery one included in Windows so this is not an option.
Anybody knows how to fix this?
B.
