Win 2k driver used in Win XP!

Hi,
I would like to know whether my Win 2k driver can be used in Win XP
without recompiling with Win XP DDK and IFS kit? Any compatibility issue if
I build my driver in Win 2k DDK and IFS kit and test it in both Win 2k and
Win XP? I am considering to have the same source that work in both platform.
Any information is appreciated.

Regards,
Sin Lam

We build with the NT4 DDK and run on NT4, 2000 & XP quite happily. The reverse is not true, as there are new APIs in exception handling that stopi you running a new-IFS-kit filter on an old OS.

The only thing we get is a few warnings from the verifier about calling obsolete interfaces. Apparently these may cause us to bluse screen in low resource situations rather than fail gracefully when we don’t get the resources.

Andy.
