WHQL help with unclassified submission

I hope this is the correct area for this question. I’m trying to get our driver package submitted for WHQL under device submission -> unclassified -> unclassified signature. Our driver package has three inf files two for the mini filter and one other one, and when the wizard asks for the Driver Install File, do I enter in all three INFs or just the main one that will install the others?

Thanks

Vincent

Vincent,

I have never done this so I dont have an answer. I would try submitting with the parent inf and if it did not pick up all the drivers then try submitting them separately via child infs and see whether it works out in the end.

Yes, try with the possibilities until the wizard recognizes all the drivers.

You can also contact winqual people at xxxxx@microsoft.com and obtain the
accurate process instead of trial and error. I guess that they will respond
to the query.

Regards.

The mail id is xxxxx@microsoft.com.

Regrets. The mail id is xxxxx@microsoft.com where xxxxx = winqual

Bhaskar, the mail addresses are fully visible if you read MTDEV via
NNTP. It’s the web client that anonymizes addresses in posts (an
anti-spam measure for the benefit of us all, I believe).

Hi, we successfuly signed our IM driver which has two inf file. When wizard
asks for inf file I entered both - one inf for miniport part and one for
protocol part. I don’t know what to do with third inf, try to add it too and
if testing will be successful, I think that WHQL submission will succeed
too.

hello,

from my past experience,i could comment that their (Winqual) correspondence is remarkable. we also submitted for unclassified submission. We were unable to WHQL our driver as there was some bug in the WLK. later they released a patch. it worked fine after.

just a suggestion: install all the patches available at Microsoft connect site before running test on your driver, since forgetting to do so, may invalidate your submission if you do not run those patches.

deep

Ondrej Slanina : I will try to submit with all the INFs in my driver package.
Uday Bhaskar : While I wait for their reply, I will try the above.

Thanks all.
