WHQL for USB Intellectual Property

Hi All,
I dont know if this question looks sound for this forum or not.

We developed Intelectual property for USB having BULK and Control End point. In this july we just passed compliant test for USB-IF.

Intelectual property means any one can use our softcore USB as thier system design/ device design and can make any USB support device. Like Thumb Drive, Printer, CDC or any custome device in Millatry, automation etc.

So is it possible to do WHQL for USB IP( Intelectual property) or WHQL is only for devices?

Thanks in advance

I just wonder how IP may be possibly related to WHQL…

The very idea of WHQL is to certify that a *given* driver fully conforms to MSFT guidelines (i.e. does not hook, does not access undocumented structures, does not spend too long in DPC routine, etc, etc, etc). In other words, it is all about quality. However, IP applies to technology/methodology, rather than to some particular driver implementation.

The only possible relationship between these two is that some particular IP may be not certifiable by its very definition. For example, the whole methodology may be based upon some programming technique that is not supported by MSFT (say, modification of global tables), so that any driver that implements this methodology has no chance to get certified by MSFT. However, the opposite cannot be true - after all, you just cannot say that any driver that implements your methodology is guaranteed to be certifiable regardless of its particular implementation, can you???
