Who is creating the path?

Hello,

We have a problem in dynamic disks in WIndows 2003. We have a driver in
"base" group, which starts with system start type. During the startup it is
opening a log file from one dynamic disk volume. The name is specfied as
\Device\HarddiskDmVolumes\Sg4151Dg0\Volume3\Myfolder\LogFile.log. The
ZwCreateFile fails with STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE ("A device which does not
exist was specified.") When we changed the driver from "base" group to one
which loads in alter stage, it is working well. Who is mounting the dynamic
disk volumes and when? What will be our safe location to start so that
ZwCreateFile will not fail with STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE.

TIA,
Binoj
