What do the files in AppPatch do ?

Hi guys,

Does anybody know what the files in the %Windows%\AppPath folder do ? I
thought this was an Windows XP specific issue, but I do have such files
on my Win2K box as well.

It seems the DLLs in the AppPatch folder have an entrypoint called
GetHookAPIs… Sounds interesting enough to me

Best,
Bartjan.

This is a purely for Microsoft use only. Its got nothing to do with drivers.
These files are used to provide application compatibility by providing
layers on top of existing WIN32 APIs.

Does that mean that the DLL in AppPatch have a method of intercepting
and changing APIs ? If so, do you have any ideas about what exact
interception method is used ?

Best,
Bartjan
