Install new version of via chipset drivers. Ver 4.35 and older are buggy.

Aihe: [ntdev] NTFS problem on VIA chipsets for AMD Athlon processor

My friend has a motherboard Asus A7v133 with VIA KT133 chipset, Athlon 1,4
GHz and Windows 2000 SP2 installed on NTFS partition.
When Windows 2000 starts, it automaticaly runs checkdisk utility and then
finds some problems in NTFS. It happens almost every day :-(((( Second,
errors were found in system files area so he was forced to reinstall
Windows.
Do you have any solution or any ideas about this problem? Any help will be
highly appreciated.

[text re NTFS problems and VIA Chipsets deleted]

Two things… The first is going to be obvious. Is your friend shutting
down properly? Secondly, I have had two Maxtor D540X drives go south on me
(diag codes tell me to replace the drive) within two months of being hooked
up to a K7T266A chipset. For all I know, there may be a problem with the
chipset.

I know it’s horrendously offtopic, but anybody know anything about this one
way or the other?

Many thanks for reply.
My friend has already installed VIA service pack 4.37, but this problem
still exists :((( Maybe some solution of this buggy problem exists??? Maybe
it’s a bug in the VIA chipset??? Strange, but people from VIA don’t comment
this problem…
