Understanding TDI_DISCONNECT

A TCP connection has two directions, it could be used like:
send request
close sending direction
read answer
close completly

Now I don’t fully understand how this maps to TDI, does TDI_DISCONNECT with
flags set to TDI_RELEASE only closes sending direction while I still can
receive?

Correct. The other side will close when your ClientEventDisconnect with RELEASE
parameter will close.
