Has Microsoft released symbols for Server 2003 for x64 (build 3790)? The
symbol server does not appear to have them, nor can I find them anywhere on
MSDN. Here’s what “!sym noisy” says when I try to load them:
1: kd> .reload
Connected to Windows Server 2003 3790 x64 target, ptr64 TRUE
SYMSRV:

Am I missing something, or are these symbols simply unavailable?
On a possibly related note, when I try to inspect local variables in my
driver (a checked build), the values given are quite clearly wrong. I can
load my own symbols just fine, and even set breakpoints with no problem. I
can also inspect my driver’s globals in the Watch window, although I cannot
inspect locals there with the $! prefix.
Is WinDbg just confused because it doesn’t have the kernel symbols, or did
I potentially mess something up in my build?
I am using the WinDbg version 6.3.0017.0.
Thanks in advance,
Jason
There are build 3790.1069 and 3790.1218 symbol CD images available in MS
beta side.
