Submit driver with modified inf files

We have been dealing with Microsoft for well over a year and I finally have a hardware icon to submit drivers.. Whew! Piece of cake from here I thought. but I guess not.

My company uses an FDI driver and we've modified the inf files with our hardware ID that was provided to us by FTDI. All information I can find states I need to run the HLK and I need a DUA file. The DUA file can only be downloaded if the driver is already in my partner center account. I can’t get the diver in there without using the DUA file for the HLK. I feel like I’m missing something simple. Any guidance is appreciated.

No replies yet? Maybe if I ask this a different way.

On my hardware submission page, I do not have the driver listed yet. FTDI sent me a link to the submission but I just get an “oops something went wrong” page with no useful information. All the help links and AI chats never seem to address the specific problem. I don’t have a “Shipping Label” option to select in my hardware work space.

Should the “Shipping Label” option just be there or will it not show up unless I already have a driver in my driver’s list?

Do I have to create a brand new driver submission or should I expect to see something in the hardware workspace from FTDI? They indicated there would be an option that I needed to agree to. It’’s not there. The support at FTDI said if the link they sent doesn’t work. there may be a problem with my account. I’m jumping trough all the hoops to create yet another support ticket. I just keep thinking I’m missing a step?

I thought I just needed to run DUA test in the HLK. I just can’t find that current DUA file to run.

I have the old DUA file from 12 years ago when this was first done under the old company name. Should I try and submit the driver using the old DUA. That DUA only shows certifications for up to Windows 8.

I feel I’m close to the end of this nightmare. Hopefully this one last hurdle and I’m there.

Well The mystery is solved. It was more or less something simple. When Microsoft fixed our account to allow hardware certification, they (I’m not sure why) created a different Seller ID. I did not see this new Seller ID listed anywhere under the account settings. I saw the two I was use to seeing and that was it. I noticed when I hovered over the sign in for the other IDs, The URL included the Seller ID. I pasted these URLs in Notepad and saw the seller ID in each and realized there was now a third one. The one I thought I was supposed to be using wan not correct. I sent FTDI the Seller ID that let me access the hardware section. They submitted the reseller rights info under this number. It Finally showed up in my hardware tab as expected. Our driver is now updated and certified.
