Some Powerquest/DriveImage developer around?

Hello,

I hope this is not too offtopic. I have a problem with DriveImage 7 that
originates from the PQV2iSvc.exe or the underlying FS filter driver (I believe
the latter one).

The problem:
Well, the actual problem is the V2i Protector service or maybe the
underlying
FS filter driver that produces an error because no disk is in the ZIP drive.
This error occurs from time to time, as long as there is no disk in the
drive.
If it appeared once during a session it will appear every 2-5 minutes.
The symptom is a popup window stating that there is no disk in drive
“\Device\Harddisk2\DR2” which is my ZIP drive (I found it by using WinObj
from
the Resource Kit as well as checking some related registry entries).
This window is a service notification messagebox from the PQV2iSvc.exe
asking
for Retry, Abort, Cancel.
I consider this being a mistake/bug in the product, since it renders the
whole
system unusable.

The support just dismisses my questions and tells me to disconnect the ZIP
drive or to disable the service “V2i Protector” [which makes DI7 as useful as
DI2002 :frowning: …]. As you see, the problem could already be known to you (as a
Powerquest developer) but it’s still being ignored by the support.
If there’s somebody around from Powerquest who cares about the customers,
please contact me via my email address or via one of the contact option below.

Thanks in advance,

Oliver Schneider

PS: Sorry to all who are not concerned.

May the source be with you, stranger
