Software eject in 9x/Me fsd?

Hello,

I was wondering how to implement support for software eject in a fsd for
Windows 9x/Me (yes, this is for removable media). By software eject I mean
when the user display the context menu on the drive letter in my computer
and choose ‘eject’. Of course a shell extension could be implemented to
issue proprietary ioctls to the fsd when the user select this eject. But
this is not an elegant solution, and I fear conflict with shell extensions
from other software manufacturer. Currently the windows shell do offer eject
in the context menu of the drive when my fsd is mounted, but ‘nothing’
occurs when the user selects ‘eject’.

Did someone already experimented this eject issue and found a nice solution?

Best regards,
