(1) Yeah, SoftICE rocks (and it’s *my* debugger of choice).
(2) Yeah, windbg was pretty sucky 10 years ago, but M$ has since then taken
device driver development seriously. If you haven’t checked windbg out
recently it deserves another look.
(3) All those exes I mentioned? No matching .objs, no .maps. Nada. Just
the .exes and some source that *doesn’t match*.
(4) Option ROM. My code runs while the motherboard is attempting to boot.
