SoftICE in Whistler 2462

Hi all,
I’m facing some problems while installing SoftIce Release 1.5
in whistler Build version (5.01.2462).

It copies the files and it reboots.And it does not come up.
It crashes (BSOD) before the windows starts.
To recover from this I need to reinstall the OS.
I had selected Manual startup for SoftIce during installation.

Whether the release 1.5 of softICE supports Whistler?
How can i solve this problem?

Hi, James,

SoftIce 1.5 does not support Whistler. If you want to run on Whistler Build
2462, you need either the DriverStudio Release 2.5 Beta 1 or the patch to
DriverStudio 2.01. Depending on how you got your SoftIce 1.5, you may be
entitled to a free upgrade to 2.00 and 2.01, and then it’s a question of
loading the patch from our web site.

Instead of actually reinstalling your entire system you MIGHT find it
useful to boot on a floppy or a different OS and delete ntice.sys,
siwsym.sys, ntice.sys and siwvid.sys.
