Size of Non Paged Pool

In Win2k, what determines the size of non-paged pool? Is it fixed or does it
grow if more is needed? If it grows where is the memory taken from and is it
given back?

Initial portion is IIRC fixed, and there is some amount to grow to.
Pages are taken off the usual free page list.
