There is a service which spawns an exe which in turn
spawns a third party .exe
The exe installs windows hooks in the third party
.exe.
I want the third party .exe to be visible sometimes
but should be off the desktop most of the time.
At the same time the App should be running even when
no user is logged on or if a user logs off.
I tried spawning the exe with Desktop =
“WinSta0\Default”.
In the exe I created a new desktop and I spawned the
third party app on that desktop. I communicate with
another app to make the third party exe visible as
required. But when the user logs off, the Windows
Station(WinSta0), on which my desktop is created, is
destroyed and so is everything else. The same cannot
be done without anyone logging in as “WinSta0\Default”
would not be available.
If the exe is spawned on the Service(Local Account)
WinSta
OpenProcessWindowStation
OpenThreadDesktop
SetProcessWindowStation
SetThreadDesktop
the third party App s desktop cannot be change.
Is whatever I’m trying to do possible??
