In Windows XP, if a user (Not an administrator on local machine)
connects to a system, he will not get the icon for “Safely Remove
Devices”. Same user when using the console terminal of same PC, gets the
icon and can stop USB devices.
This has to do with different in privilages assigned to Interactive vs
Non Interactive sessions. (For administrators it works fine in both
cases).
My requirement is to have this case work for regular users , i.e. a
regular user should be able to Safely Remove Devices even when
connecting via Remote Desktop. I don’t see a place where I can set a
policy and get this support.
Does anyone know if this can be done programmatically?
Thanks
Pankaj
Your could open gpedit.msc, modify something.
Because I’m using a Chinese WinXP, so I couldn’t show you the correct
location.
In gpedit.msc, you will found a policy named like ‘Install and Uninstall
Driver Programe’ and Administrators was in it in default. You can add your
user name or user group into it.
