Icon for folders aren’t registered with GUID, but with a full name, i.e=

Is it possible to change that?

Write your own handler for “Folder”, register it under the same GUID, a=
nd
pass all calls to a native handler by calling DllGetClassObject in
shell32.dll directly.
A COM filter. A known thing.
