Hi:
Thanks Arriza for your correction about connection
points.
I have studied that in COM asynchronous comm is not
possible but not sure about about COM+ (Dr. Richard
Grimes)
I will try to clear my question a little furthur.
Here is the situation.
- I have a GUI which instantiates an interface of an
NT service locally or remotely. There is no problem is
doing so. - After the interface in the service is instantiated
it should send notifications (events) to a GUI from an
NT srvice. I have tried to do it through connection
points but it only works if I register my service as a
simple EXE. If i register it as a service.
CoCreateInstance from the client GUI is failed on the
first attempt. If i remove the connection points the
interface is again instantiated without a problem in
the service.
( Does this mean that we cannot implement
connection points in a service . ? if i am wrong in
this assumption than what seems to be the problem an d
how can i solve it…
