Re: Vista not saving crash dump?

Hi,

I’m having exactly the same problem. Methinks its another lovely Vista bug.

I’ve tried everything, including the .crash kd command, and nothing will
generate a dump file for me. What is strange though is that the problem
arose at the same time on two separate vista machines. This makes me think
that it is either something I am causing indirectly with my driver or its
an automatic update from microsoft. My driver is a virtual audio device -
completely separate to the disk just like yours, and I have also verified
that the problem still occurs when my driver is stopped.

At this point, I’m suspecting microsoft goodness. However, the only
updates in the 2 weeks prior to when the problem occurred were windows
defender updates - unlikely to be related.

So, I’m rather stuck. Did you have any success with your machine?

Joe.
