RE: strange driver install problem

Ha- after getting moved to another project for the last few months, I just picked this one up again and started porting my test app to C#- the funny thing is that I couldn’t get it to load my driver. I was getting an error when I tried to start the service. I got excited when a Google search brought up some hits on OSROnline, and then really excited to see that the post on OSR was my own from 4 months ago! The same solution (delete WDF* from system32) worked again!

Let that be a lesson in writing back to the list when you solve your problem- the life you save may be your own.

If you can manage to reproduce this situation again, I would very much like to know how to reproduce it myself. It should never be necessary to do this unless some serious hacking has been going on behind the scenes. I tried to make this scenario happen the last time it was reported, and failed.
