Re: SCSI Port versus SCSI Miniport versus other optio- ns

For a ScsiPort driver you’ll be submitting running “Other Storage” tests in
the 9.502 (for Win2000) and in XP’s 10.0 HCTs you get to choose the exact
type of controller you support.

After doing all the pre-WHQL certification testing you submit your logs to
MS and wait 2-4 weeks for CATs, assuming you pass all the testing they do.

Remember, while only OEMs submit their platforms against System HCTs, you
really should make sure you run and pass these tests as well. Otherwise
OEMs can’t get their platforms signed. Other Storage Device HCTs don’t
require PM testing and the system HCTs do.

Hi Tom,

Assuming you can run all the tests, you’d probably submit your hardware
device as a “disk subsystem” or something, right? And that’d take about a
month or so to get through the process, typically.
