sam ple experiences?)A driver can’t determine which other S state the machine can
successfully go into, there could be another driver that rejects that
state.
Sure but then it is another driver’s problem. I mean if there is a way how
to determine states for which would OS ask i.e. all supported states.
At this point, we keep it simple. This is why the automatic arm
for wake only occurs if the mouse can wake the machine from its deepest
sleep state. In this state, we do not ever reject a request to go into
standby b/c the mouse (and keyboard as well actually) support them all
for wake.
Thanks for the explanation. Maybe “keep it simple” is the best strategy. I
just noticed mouclass sources are in the DDK; I’ll examine them before
asking more questions
