Re: IRP Completion Rules -- Rules for I/O Completion Rout ines

First I like to mention that I learn a lot from quite a few of you. And
definitely from Max, Ravi, and lot of you others. So I said what I observed
my the emails ( from Ravi, then Max, then …).

It reminds me of a story, and I apologize to put this here

When Unix was “under construction”, and finally out to the public, ACM gave
its firs award to Ken Thomson, jointly with Dennis Reitchy. AT THE
PRESENTATION, HE SAID THAT -

“There was a problem, in the kernel that Ken and Dennis realize. So they
coded separately ( in assembler, pdp11), no one knows that the other person
was also trying to solve the problem. Then about a day or so later, they
both said they are done. Then they compare their code. And found the
solution which was roughly about 30 lines of asm code, they are
identical…”

I think great men think ( by experience) alike…

Hat’s off Ravi, and Max.

What EVER…

I don’t know who Ravi is (sorry!) and I hadn’t seen this list before Max
posted it.

So, here’s the sum total of what I’m gonna do to “verify the source and
give
credit accordingly”: When I post it, I’m gonna mark it as “Written as a
collaborative effort by the members of NTDEV and NTFSD”. If anyone has
a
problem with that, reply directly to me.
