Sorry for the delay in answering, I was on a business trip. The way to do it
is this:
-
Close the data window (use the “wd” command if it is open). This will
force your output into the output window. -
Do the command, say, “DD 9cf58000”. The output goes to the output window.
-
From the symbol loader, click “File”, then “Save SoftICE history as”.
Enter a file name. The buffer will be displayed there. -
Alternatively, click “BoundsChecker” and “Capture System Information”
from inside the DriverWorkbench. Click on “SoftIce History”, the buffer will
be there.
Note that we don’t do normal cut and paste from the SoftICE window because
the Clipboard isn’t operational when SoftICE is popped up: for example, you
could be debugging on a single machine.
Note also that with Rev. 2.5 you can do those operations remotely over one
or multiple targets over your faithful TCP/IP network. In fact, this will
easily enable you to cut and paste from one machine to another.
Hope this helps!
Alberto.

SoftICE is not a command line utility, so cut’n’paste doesn’t work there ![]()
