I can verify that this is true. In the process of developing our own
hardware and driver, there have been occasions where the PCI bus was hung
up by the hardware. Even SI would not popup.
However, I suspect that an AMD CPU based system with the split transaction
bus architecture (like using the AMD-760MPx chipset), may fare better. I
have just recently started working with such a system, so if I can
duplicate this scenario, I will let you know.
