To bring up a question which was written two years ago (but never
answered!)…

Is it possible to register a coinstaller for a protocol driver (Type
NetTrans)? It doesn’t seem to see my [install.CoInstallers] section of the
INF file at all.

Or is there another way to achieve something similar?

Nope. You can’t write a coinstaller for NetTrans class, but you can write
notify object DLL.
