Suppose someone files a patent on some technology and the patent has prior
art. Now say I am in the process of selling my company and some of my
technology is the prior art. The buyer of my company may think something is
fishy and not do the deal because of some outstanding vanity patent that was
filled by less than competent people and lawyers.
If there is going to be a process, it must be fair and the patent office
must do its job; of course, anyone working a government job is not a very
motivated person and surly has no incentive to do a good job.
This is why I have decided to completely ignore all patents. The best way to
revolt is to simply ignore the morons.

Ok I agree with you there. But enforcing a patent is a whole different
story. Someone on the list might file the patent but wont be able to
enforce it. If you cant enforce a patent then what’s the point? The only
thing it would do is not allow the original poster to obtain a patent.

In a sane world you’d be right. But we’re talking about patents, and
logic, reason, fairness, and sanity don’t apply.

No one on this list can file the patent because this would constitute as
prior art wouldn’t it?
