MCR(Media Change Request) and MC(Media Change) bits, are set correctly by
the firmware.

Hi there,
When there is a change of media, are you sure you are failing any command
thats is coming to the device from the device firmware and then telling
that there is Media change in the request sense that folows. If so then no
matter the OS I have seen this stuff working under the same conditions
even for a removable IDE drive… Check if you are giving the correct Sense
Value and the Additional Sense Key from the firmware.
