Question on Shutdown process

Hello,

When am trying to shutdown the system which is running on XP SP2 i get this message.
sometimes it hang up having just ligh-blue screen with mouse pointer frozen and sometimes it shutsdown normally.

Does any one have an idea of whats going on?

Here is the log messages i got from the WinDbg.

Process.Thread : 00000004.00000020 (System) is trying to create key:
ObjectAttributes = F970DB48
The caller should not rely on data written to the registry after shutdown…

These last lines are from the debugger.

If the PC is hanging at the desktop with a mouse, what happens if you
break in?
