query VHD bitmap

Is there a mechanism to query the bitmap of a dynamic VHD(x) file? Preferably from the mounted VHD device? An API call on the VHD itself would suffice though.

I can query the filename of a mounted VHD via an IOCTL, so I thought there might be a way to query the bitmap too.

Why not use VDS service for this?

I wonder whether VHDMP.SYS supports TRIM/UNMAP and the related stuff :slight_smile:
