Query as to why CcPurgeCacheSection fails...

Hi All,

I am after an explanation as to why a call to CcPurgeCacheSection fails
(W2K OS), when the file in question has not been memory mapped at all?

I apologize up front for the lack of info, but this is in an area where I
would be giving away IP.

Regards,

Ian Costello

Hi Ian,

It is not possible for this file to fail if the file has not been memory
mapped at all. Of course, ANY access via the cache will cause it to be
memory mapped - and that can cause the purge to fail under some
circumstances.

Of course, if you can reveal more information about what you are doing, we
might be able to provide more guidance. If IP is an issue, you might do
better to engage the services of one of the experts who read this list as
they can work with you in a confidential capacity.

Regards,

Tony
