Paged pool memory for reparsepoint files

Hi,

We have a volume which has 16 millions reparse point files. When it was mounted to windows 2003 R2 32 bit OS, the paged pool memory will go up around 30M, around 2bytes/file, even after we reboot the machine, It will still consume the same amount memory.

The pool tag ‘Mmst’ was the one who is consuming the paged pool memory.

The paged pool memory won’t go up if we mount the volume with same amount normal files.

And we test it doesn’t matter with the reparsepoint data buffer length, it will consume the same memory even with 1 byte data buffer.

Anyone knows why reparsepoint file will consume the extra paged pool memory?

Thanks
Tsang
