OSR seminars

hi guys,
I have a question about the seminars that OSR conducts and
charges a Grand amount for it.Is it worth the kind of money they charge.I
mean in their labs do they actually make you write Drivers on actual harware
or some kind of simulated thing.
If they make you write on a actual harware i really think how do they make
it happen in 3 days or they give you some already written code and make you
understand it.

i am doubtful about that how can someone understand the hardware and
understand the code for driver of that hardware in three days.

I am planning to get a course from OSR guys but i am doubtful if it is
really worth it.

Thanks
Ajitabh

Dunno about the labs, maybe they are maybe they aren’t, mostly that depends
on the student and how much he wants to learn. As to the seminars with, or
without labs, having been to 2 of them I will unequivocally say this …

THEY ARE WORTH EVERY GOD DAMNED PENNY!!!

There … enough said.

I AGREE!!!
Yes, it’s only 3 days - but, it’s intense, and they’re more than happy to
answer questions to specific problems.

Mark

I also recommend the book “Windows NT Device Driver Development” by OSR, and
no I’m not on commission from them!

Ajitabh:

Several years ago I attended their file system class which was excellent!

A little over a year ago I went to their “advanced W2000 driver class” which
was good, but not what I’d been looking for. I thought it was going to
cover the differences between NT 4 and W2K in “advanced” detail. They did
cover some of the differences, but the class was about “advanced” driver
development using W2K as the platform. Many of these “advanced” techniques
had already been covered in the file system class. This was not OSR’s
fault; I should have put more effort into finding out exactly what the class
was going to cover and that is my advice to you.
