Off-topic but cute...

Hi, guys,

This is off-topic, well, sort of, but it’s an interesting data
point. I was fiddling with my ZoneAlarm firewall and I entered a
site in their firewall “zones” list, so that I could block it.
Well, they somehow failed to resolve the site id, and their
algorithm defaulted the IP address to 127.0.0.1: they blocked my
localhost. That caused my my little .net remoting applets to
stop working - but to my surprise, Internet Explorer quit
working too! Firefox has not issues with disabling localhost,
but it looks like IE will quit working if localhost is disabled.

I think that’s nice to know, sometimes I want some privacy
too…

Alberto.

I think that lots of COM apps can die due to disabling localhost.
