Hi Dorian,
Yes, the list is active. I don’t use the news interface to read the
list, I use the e-mail interface, and I can tell you that there’s a LOT
more messages on this list than on WinDBG.
Let me guess - you installed an old version of the IFS Kit. The samples
are present in the current (W2K3 SP1) IFS Kit, but not in earlier
versions. If you don’t have the newest kit, you will need to get an
upgrade to it.
The kit works on both XP and W2K3 as far as I know (and I never use it
on a W2K3 Server based system…)

Subject: [ntfsd] mini filter examples
Hi,
Is this list active? Wondering because OE does not show any messages
for this list but over 2000 for the windbg list.
I installed the IFS kit from Microsoft and I am trying to find the
minispy minifilter example in it. Could someone point me in the right
direction to find a working minifilter sample code.
I heard that there is a mini filter equivalent to the sfilter. Is this
true? If so, where can I get it.
Also, the IFS kit says to install it on MS server. But after inspection
of it’s contents it looks like a DDK++. I installed it on my xp system
with no trouble and was able to comple and use the sfilter without
trouble. Is this acceptable for just doing filter driver work?
