List Problems

Sorry about the message going to everyone on the list, but I couldn’t find
a contact email anywhere in the list web page for issue resolution. (And I
realize it’s a free service)

I haven’t received any messages from any of the osr lists during the last
several days. Using the web site I can see that messages are being posted,
I’m just not getting them. I double checked my settings and I should be
receiving per messages emails. Any thoughts on how to identify if this is
an issue with the list server or my site? I’m getting all other email OK.

Make sure you add me to any response as I want see list replies

Message delivery broken here too.

I have only seen a couple messages for a few days now. Seems like it
happened right after I posted :frowning:

Looking at my sendmail log, the reverse DNS name for lists.osr.com
(38.220.243.245) seems to drop out around Aug 10 09:39:28, and messages
mostly fail after that.

I also see log messages:Aug 14 18:21:40 internet named[11207]: Lame server
on ‘245.243.220.38.in-addr.arpa’ (in ‘243.220.38.in-addr.arpa’?):
[38.8.93.2].53 ‘sec2.dns.psi.net

Didn’t psi.net declare bankrupcy recently?

Going to OSR’s web site, the list admin pages seem to still show me
subscribed and there were new messages.

Hey Peter …

I’ve been expecting this … 2 or 3 days worth of messages all at once.
Looks like you cleared the “blockage”. What was the solution? Phillips?
ExLax?

Sorry for the list problems over the past few days.

We’ve had hideous name server trouble, much of which has been caused by
us… We had the audacity to attempt to change the primary DNS server that’s
registered for our domain. Imagine that! How unreasonable. And, in the
process, we wound up proving that our Firewall-1 really does enforce those
rules we gave it.

Oh, never mind. I’m spewing again.

It should be all better now.

Please don’t hesitate to mail xxxxx@lists.osr.com or
xxxxx@osr.com, or even me directly if you seem to be encountering a
problem with the lists. It’s never an imposition, really. We want the
lists to work, and we want them to work both FAST and RIGHT. We get busy,
however, and often don’t realize for days (just like a lot of you) that the
lists are not working correctly.

The odd thing was that first one would not see a message sent to the
list and then these messages would show up over and over again.
