i was thinking of downloading the latest wdk on a slow/stuttering inet
connection and was looking around in connect
i see two downloads
one 6001.18001
and one 6001.18002 with some big bold words saying this is sp1 whatever
see below
Title WDK SP1 for Windows Server 2008 SP1 Release Date 10/23/2008
Size 577.71
MB Version 6001.18002 Category Build Milestone RTM Description *WDK SP1
for Windows Server 2008/SP1 is a service pack release of the WDK for Windows
Server 2008.*
what does that servicepack release mean ? does that imply i also have to
download that 18001 too ?
is this standalone wdk ??
i faintly remember the versions greater than 3790.1830 were > 1 gb last
time i looked
“Service pack” because there are bugfixes, tool changes and I believe also some sample changes- the WDF coinstallers are again present, as well. Separating the WDK and WLK products helped bring the size back down.
It’s a complete WDK, and it is the latest released one.

downloaded at last but i have a Dumb Question
I should be doing what should work well but iil just pose it
this download is an iso (dvd format using udf )
that download page said i should burn a dvd
and if i would have done that autorun.inf would probably do its job
but i extracted this iso using winrar and than ran the kisetup.exe
kisetup is complaining about wdk folder not found ( i think spaces in path
problem)

*why does file transfer manager put the iso in a folder with spaces in it *
it took me some time to understand it is spaces in the path problem
