KMDF / UMDF / WinUSB - Which operating systems are supported?

Which operating systems are supported by KMDF, UMDF, and WinUSB? I need
to build a driver that works on Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows
Server 2003. Can I use KMDF, UMDF, or WinUSB to build my driver? I had
read that WinUSB isn’t supported on Windows Server 2003. Is that true?
Is that also true for KMDF and UMDF?

KMDF supports all your required OSs. Winusb/UMDF support XP and Vista.
So, if the deciding factor is WS03 support, KMDF is the solution for you

That’s interesting. I thought the only issue with 2003 Server was the
lack of Itanium support. Will UMDF simply refuse to install on 2003, or
is it just “not supported”?

UMDF 1.5 will not install on Server 2003. It was a client-only release.

We hope to have a server-release come out with Windows Server Longhorn that will have downlevel support for Server 2003.
