kmdf coinstaller

hello folks,

i try compiling the nonpnp sample of wdf and when i try rnning the built
samples i get ther error loadlib failed because wdfcoinstaller01007.dll is
missing. where do i get this file from?

i am on vista64 and my ddk version is 6001.18001

thanks

AP

Read the ‘nonpnp.htm’ file in the ‘src\kmdf\nonpnp’ folder. It tells you how to install it. As far
as where is the coinstaller, take a look under the ‘redist’ folder of the wdk root.

Good luck,

mm

thanks for telling me the path for the coinstallers the issue is this
version of DDK didn’t ship the installers at all  hence my search didnt
produce the dll :))

*Important Information about the Installers for UMDF and KMDF:*

This version {6001.18001} of the Windows Driver Kit for Windows Server 2008
does not have the co-installers for the Windows Driver Framework due to
installation problems encountered with the co-installers.

We are working on a fix and will post it at http://connect.microsoft.com on
the WDK program page as soon as it is available.

Until the new co-installers are available, if you need to build a WDF
driver, please use the Vista RTM WDK which has the version 1.5 WDF
co-installers, available for download at http://connect.microsoft.com on
the WDK program page.

If you downloaded and installed the Windows Server 2008 WDK {Version
6001.18000} which contained the KMDF and UMDF version 1.7 installers, DO NOT
DISTRIBUTE DRIVER PACKAGES WHICH CONTAIN THE 1.7 INSTALLERS.

Please send questions to us at xxxxx@microsoft.com.

thank

ap

Take a look on connect - connect.microsoft.com under the WDK/WLK/WDF connection.

Good luck,

For WDK version 6001.18001 the correct WDF files are not with the WDK.
Either install WDK 6001.18002 or install the WDF 1.7 package.
