kd> p / Illegal thread error in 'p'

kd> p
^ Illegal thread error in ‘p’
I have been getting this error message several times at boot up !
Does anyone know what causes it, and how to make it go away ?
Thanks
sw Hayes

Are you typing p too fast and not waiting on the debugger prompt to
return? Can you give more details about the situation where this is
happening? I assume either:

a) someone is typing this p command
or b) someone is running some kind of script in kd

I never type “p” and am not to my knowledge running any kind of script.
I do activate the saved workspace for my device driver which usually automatically makes the connection to the target machine.
If this auto-connect activity performed when the workspace is opened is script driven, where is the script so I may examine it for flaws?
Thanks
swh

I can only imagine there must be something in your workspace or you are
launching windbg with a script using the -c option. The debugger does
not type “p” by itself.

How exactly are you launching windbg? I’ll bet this does not repro if
you use the kd.exe console debugger instead?
