look it up your own damn self; in the ddk, go to “device and driver
technologies”, expand that tree, and select “print”.

If its a local printer the port monitor component of the printer
architecture will have to be changed accordingly

Unless “X” and “Y” are the same printer model, this is not going to be
an easy task, and it’s difficult for me to imagine a reasonable scenario
in which this would be useful. The Windows servers do support a printer
“pool”, where one printer queue actually leads to a pool of identical
printers. The spooler doles out jobs to the printers based on how busy
they are.
But if you don’t want printer “X” exposed, then don’t make it public.

Thanx Tim,
But “X” and “Y” printers are of different model.
Now can you you suggest me from where should I proceed.
I want to know that if I am sending a print request to a particular printer,my request will first go to local GDI and it then goes to printer driver of the requested printer on own PC. So if now I give print command, which function on remote PC (to which the Printer is attached) will first handle the request to revert my PC back that printer on which you want to print is attached or ready or what ever, before actual printing.
Thanx in advance.

Then how do you expect this to work? If the application thinks it is
talking to printer “X”, it’s going to fetch printer X’s resolution,
margin, paper formats, built-in fonts, and so on, and use those to do
its drawing. You can’t just send that to a different printer, which
might have a different resolution and a different set of built-in fonts.
Now can you you suggest me from where should I proceed.
Yes. Tell us what problem you are really trying to solve. Your current
path is not going to be successful.
I want to know that if I am sending a print request to a particular printer,my request will first go to local GDI and it then goes to printer driver of the requested printer on own PC.
Possibly. For some networked printers, the local driver doesn’t do very
much. The commands are gathered up into a metafile, and the metafile
gets rendered on the remote end. For other printers, it doesn’t work
that way.
So if now I give print command, which function on remote PC (to which the Printer is attached) will first handle the request to revert my PC back that printer on which you want to print is attached or ready or what ever, before actual printing.
I don’t know enough about the printer driver model to help you any
further. Hopefully, some other person will pick this up.
