I am working on a installation program for a SCSI miniport driver
and I am having a small problem after installation. If I look in the SCSI
Applet in the Control Panel the name of my driver is appearing instead of
the description. I appears that the applet is getting this name from the
HKLM\Hardware\DeviceMap\Scsi\Scsi Port X\DeviceName Key rather than the
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services"Service or Driver Name"\DeviceName
Key that most Services and Drivers do. Does anyone know how to get this
description corrected? There are two caveats A) It is a no-no to directly
modify this key. B) The key HKLM\Hardware\DeviceMap\Scsi\Scsi Port X does
not exist until the first reboot after installation. Thank you.
