Installed Operating system info.

Hi,

Is there any method to find out HOW MANY “Operating Systems”(WinXX and Unix,
Linux) are installed in a machine. However reading the boot.ini file gives
the list of WinXX OS, but what abt Unix and Linux. The raw reading of MBR
gives the Partition infos, but not the “Name” of the OS(for eg Win9x, WinNT
etc).

thanks in advance,

I don’t think it is possible without knowing the details on LILO and such.
On dual-boot Linux/NT machine, both variants are available - NTLDR and boot.ini as primary loader and LILO as primary loader.
