I2C Bus

Dear all

Does anybody has experienced with I2C Bus …?

And additonally is PnP support I2C within W2K-Professional … ?

At the case of PCI-Bus , it was easy to recognize the PCI bus and attached H/W.
But how about at the case of I2C…?

If you are asking if there is a native bus driver in Win2K for I2C, ummm
no. There is no I2C bus coming out of the typical PC that people will
connect devices too right? What are you trying to see, some motherboard
devices? I2C, isn’t a commonly used bus for externally connected devices.
It is fairly common on motherboards, especially high-end workstation/server
motherboards for memory EEPROMs and such. I know Intel has used it some.
Anyway, what devices are you trying to locate?

I stand corrected. I just looked up I2C in the DDK, which I should have
done first, and found that video miniport drivers can access an I2C bus. I
didn’t realize I2C was used for video devices. So, I will step out on this
one now, as I have no idea how this is used or setup. There is some info
in the XP DDK on it though. Learn something new everyday.

Thanks Mr.Bill

You are my Hero…

The Final Motto is Driving mini-board which is connected main-board via I2C.
So the first to do is check compatibility of I2C on Windows OS within general X86 mounted system.

Expected your clear reply and I will continuously search that.
Thanks…
