How to Get the Free Port Number: Win NT

Hi,

I have Win NT Virtual Serial Port Driver. How do I assign the symbolic
link…? In Win 2k, after installation, I can get the assigned port name from
Registry and I can use that name for creating the symbolic link. Is there
any similiar method in Win NT.

Thanks
San Wind

Enumerate all entrys in HKL\hardware\devicemap\serialcomm and use the
next free slot for your own COM and update this registry entries.
Don’t forget to delete your entrys when your driver is unloaded.
