How to enable Diagnostic Mode on 1394 Hostc Controllers

Hi all,

I’m using Win1394 to enable Diagnostic Mode on my 1394 host controller in
XP. It worked fine and detected my 1394 device as Microsoft 1394 PC and
allowed me to install 1394Diag driver. However, 1394Diag will be gone if I
restart the system, and I have to reenable Diagnostic Mode and reinstall
1394Diag driver gain.

Is there a way to keep the host in Diagnostic Mode after a reboot so that it
will enumerate my device as Microsoft 1394 PC and install 1394Diag ?

Thanks,
Nhan

On Win9x, there was a registry key to do this, it was even exposed in the property page.

Why are you doing this? Is it truly a diagnostic type application? Could
you create a virtual device and then perhaps a hardware emulation device to
load your driver?
